New Slot Machines at PAGCOR Casinos Set to Go Live Mid-December

Alejandro Tengco, chairman and CEO of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor), announced that nearly 2,000 state-of-the-art slot machines will be operational by mid-December at Casino Filipino, the agency’s flagship casino brand.

“The first batch has been delivered and will go live in mid-December this year,” Tengco shared during a press briefing hosted by Macau-based casino equipment supplier LT Game Ltd.

Casino Filipino operates a network of over 40 branches and satellite casinos across the Philippines, many housed in leased spaces. The upgrades are part of Pagcor’s modernization initiative, which includes acquiring 3,000 new slot machines ahead of plans to privatize its casino network. This strategic shift will allow Pagcor to transition fully to its regulatory role.

The first delivery of 1,968 machines, supplied by RGB International Bhd, arrived in September under a contract valued at over USD 81.3 million. The machines include models from leading brands: 888 units each from Light & Wonder and Aristocrat, 150 from Konami, and 42 from KL Saberi.

Tengco also revealed that a second batch of slot machines is expected to roll out in early 2025.

As for the Casino Filipino network’s privatization, initially slated for mid-2025, Tengco clarified in September that the process would begin in 2026. This delay stems from the need to amend Pagcor’s charter, a task allocated for next year. Once privatized, the network is projected to generate approximately PHP 50 billion (USD 847.8 million).
