Clark Seeks More Taiwanese Investment for Freeport Zone Expansion

Clark authorities are working to attract more foreign investment from Taiwan, aiming to expand the freeport zone and foster business collaboration. Recent meetings with representatives from 17 Taiwanese companies, including BB International Leisure and Resort Development Corp, highlight this effort. BB International is known for its Midori Clark Hotel and Casino, a standout for using RFID technology in its gaming tables.

Taiwanese investment in Clark has already surpassed $190 million, with exports from Taiwanese businesses exceeding $10 million. The Clark Freeport Zone, strategically located near Clark International Airport, is expected to create 600,000 jobs in tourism, education, and aviation.

The area has seen success with operators like Hann Resorts, while Belle Corp is eyeing further expansion in Clark. However, not all operators have thrived, as seen with Fontana Resort & Country Club, whose operations were recently suspended for failing to meet financial commitments.
