FBM to open a software house in Manila

FBM, a supplier of electronic gaming machines including casino slots, will invest US$10 million to build a new “software house” in Manila.

On Tuesday, a delegation from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (PAGCOR), the country’s gaming regulator, visited FBM Group’s software facility in Porto, Portugal, where the announcement was made.

In a written statement, FBM highlighted its two-decade expansion of land-based operations in the Philippines, recently launching its remote gaming platform FBM E-Motion. FBM’s expansion aligns with PAGCOR’s efforts to modernize and grow the country’s gaming industry.

The new software house will follow the models of FBM Group’s successful facilities in Portugal and Brazil, while integrating local culture and expertise. FBM anticipates the facility will drive innovation in the Philippines, helping the company stay ahead of industry trends by developing cutting-edge technology and solutions.

Renato Almeida, FBM’s director, emphasized the company’s leadership in the Philippine gaming market, stating, “This investment reinforces FBM’s commitment to maintaining its leading position in the country.” He added that the facility will meet the growing demand for tailored entertainment products and experiences that resonate with the Filipino audience.

FBM also hosted a PAGCOR delegation led by chairman and chief executive Alejandro Tengco at its software house in northern Portugal. Almeida and Pepe Costa, FBM’s country manager in the Philippines, accompanied the group, offering insights into the technology and innovation behind FBM’s video bingos and slots.

The Philippines is one of the few country with a legal framework to offer land based casinos and online gaming in Asia. It stand to benefit by having its suppliers also put up local offices and trainings as well.
