Jose Dela Cruz is the new director of Manila Jockey Club

Dennis Ryan Uy stepped down from his role as Director at MJC Investments Corporation, the overseeing entity for the Manila Jockey Club, effective January 2 of this year.

In response to the vacancy, the MJC board appointed Jose Marie Angelo Dela Cruz as the new Director, commencing his role on the same day.

MJC is a publicly-listed company primarily engaged in the tourism and entertainment sectors, with a primary focus on the horse racing track at the San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite, Philippines.

The company generates a significant portion of its revenue through horse race betting operations, facilitated by over 250 Off Track Betting stations across the country, both owned and franchised, as well as bets placed at its Turf Club.

Alfonso Reyno Jr. leads the company, which holds shares in collaborative projects with Ayala Corporation, involving condominiums and office towers at the San Lazaro Business and Tourism Park in Sta. Cruz, Manila, and the suburban Canyon Ranch development at the San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite, in partnership with Century Properties.

Additionally, ancillary revenues come from horse stabling rental operations and the earnings generated by a casino located at the San Lazaro Leisure Park.

Horse race betting is not yet fully incorporated in the online gaming industry yet but there’s always a good chance it can be in the future. It could help generate more revenues with the convenience of using a mobile device or computer.
