Held at the Ilocos Norte Centennial Arena from November 29 to 30, more than 3,000 residents of Ilocos Norte received essential health services and support through PAGCOR’s Bawat Buhay Mahalaga Serbisyo Caravan.
The two-day initiative provided free medical consultations, medicines, food packs, and a range of other vital services aimed at improving community welfare.
As part of the event, PAGCOR donated Php50 million in aid to Provincial Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc. This contribution included bicycles for barangay patrols, GoBags equipped with first aid supplies, wheelchairs, walking canes, cot beds, reading glasses, and assorted medicines.
To further support the community, PAGCOR raffled off 45 livelihood starter packages and pledged to deliver medical equipment—such as 2D echo machines, portable ventilators, and monitoring devices for glucose, cholesterol, and uric acid—by early next year.
The agency also announced plans to roll out educational grants through its Ayudang Hatid ay Tagumpay program, with scholarship numbers to be determined in partnership with the provincial government.
“Through the Bawat Buhay Mahalaga Serbisyo Caravan, we aim to make essential services more accessible to communities nationwide,” said Ramon Stephen Villaflor, head of PAGCOR’s Corporate Social Responsibility Group. “Having launched this initiative in Bulacan last year, we’re thrilled to bring it to Ilocos Norte and look forward to extending it to the Visayas and Mindanao soon.”
Governor Manotoc expressed his gratitude for the program and acknowledged its positive impact on the province. “Our heartfelt thanks go to PAGCOR, Chairman Al Tengco, and President Bongbong Marcos Jr. This is our first event of this scale with PAGCOR, and we look forward to building a strong and lasting partnership,” he said.
