Robinsons Land Corp announced on Thursday that one of its units will add an “ultra-luxury” NUSTAR-branded hotel to complete the NUSTAR Resort and Casino, a Cebu tourism complex. Robinsons Land, controlled by the privately-owned Gokongwei Group, which also promotes NUSTAR Resort and Casino, revealed that its subsidiary, Robinsons Hotels and Resorts, plans to invest over PHP10 billion (US$177.7 million) in the coming years to transform the Philippine hospitality landscape.
NUSTAR Resort and Casino had its soft launch in May 2022, as noted in social media posts at the time. The new investment will contribute over 990 additional room keys to Robinsons Land’s accommodation portfolio, according to the group’s announcement to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Thursday.
The parent company highlighted that the investment includes the launch of the ultra-luxury “NUSTAR” hotel in Cebu, the lifestyle brand “Grand Summit” in key locations like Cebu and Pangasinan, and “Fili,” the first and only Filipino-owned five-star hotel brand, in Bridgetowne, Metro Manila.
Robinsons Hotels and Resorts, with 30 properties across 20 cities and municipalities nationwide, claims to be the “largest and most diversified hotel group” in the Philippines. Senior Vice President and General Manager Barun Jolly emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering elevated luxury and branded stay experiences throughout the country.
