Suntrust Resort Holdings has appointed Yip Ho Chi as its new Chief Financial Officer, following a Board of Directors meeting on January 2, 2025. The announcement was made in a filing with the Philippine Stock Exchange.
Yip will step into the CFO role for the remainder of Sutharshan Kandiah’s term until a permanent successor is chosen. The company confirmed that Kandiah has officially resigned, relinquishing all related duties.
Yip, a seasoned finance executive and Hong Kong native, brings extensive experience as CFO for several publicly listed companies on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. He previously held the CFO position at Summit Ascent Holdings Limited starting in 2013, at Melcolot Limited (now Crypto Flow Technology Limited) from 2009 to 2013, and at Sandmartin International Holdings Limited from 2000 to 2009.
In addition to his corporate roles, Yip spent eight years in auditing with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu from 1992 to 2000. He is recognized for his expertise in financial management, IPOs, and corporate governance. Yip is a Fellow of The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance from The University of Hong Kong in 1992.
Suntrust’s primary project is the $1.1 billion Westside City development, a five-star hotel and casino located within Entertainment City in Manila. The project is operated under a lease agreement with Travellers International Hotel Group, a subsidiary of Alliance Global Group (AGI) and the parent company of Newport World Resorts.
Originally scheduled to open in late 2024, Westside City’s launch was pushed to the first quarter of 2025. Suntrust recently confirmed that the project remains on track for its revised opening timeline.
