Newport World Resorts, one of Manila’s premier casino and leisure destinations, appointed Englebert Teh as its new Chief Strategy Officer. The company announced the appointment on Wednesday through its official LinkedIn page. In his new role, Mr. Teh will lead the corporate strategy team and help shape long-term business direction.
Mr. Teh brings over a decade of investment experience, particularly in real estate and infrastructure. Most recently, he led Arch Capital Philippines’ investment and asset management team. Before that, he served as Chief Financial Officer at MREIT Inc., the real estate investment trust under Megaworld Corporation. Notably, Megaworld operates as part of the broader Alliance Global Group Inc. conglomerate.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Teh also worked with Primeiro Partners and San Miguel Infrastructure. These roles allowed him to gain valuable exposure across various sectors, strengthening his strategic and financial leadership skills.
Newport World Resorts continues to evolve its leadership team under the direction of Travellers International Hotel Group Inc., a subsidiary of Alliance Global. In June, Alliance Global completed a year-long transition plan for Newport World Resorts. As part of that shift, the company appointed several key executives, including John Lucas as Chief Hospitality Officer and Arkan Sevar as Chief Casino Audit Officer.
With Mr. Teh now in place as Chief Strategy Officer, Newport World Resorts further reinforces its commitment to long-term growth and integrated development across hospitality and gaming. The leadership reshuffle signals a strong push for operational efficiency, investment optimization, and sustainable expansion in the competitive Philippine casino market.
