Hann Casino Resort in Clark, Philippines, officially launched its PIGO operations. It now offers live table games under its Philippine Inland Gaming Operator (PIGO) license. Cheryl Tiglao, Director of Slot at Hann Casino, confirmed the soft launch began less than a month ago.
“Our table games already went live, but we’re currently in the soft launch phase,” Tiglao said. “As for slots, we’re still preparing. We expect to roll them out by late next quarter.”
Hann Casino plans to introduce 100 slot machines for PIGO play, significantly expanding its digital gaming options. This move positions the property to tap into the growing demand for legal, remote gaming within the Philippines.
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) introduced the PIGO license during the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, the government allowed land-based casinos to serve local players online, since lockdowns restricted in-person visits. Even after restrictions eased, PAGCOR retained the PIGO framework to support regulated digital gaming for the domestic market.
Unlike traditional online platforms that use server-based random number generators, PIGO games must connect to physical gaming tables or machines located at the licensee’s property. This rule ensures that players engage with real-time, real-world games through a remote interface. It effectively creates a hybrid model that bridges physical and digital casino experiences.
PIGO licenses cater exclusively to domestic users, in contrast to POGO (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator) licenses, which previously targeted international audiences. After a series of regulatory changes, the government rebranded POGO licenses as Internet Gaming Licenses (IGLs), tightening oversight amid widespread scrutiny.
Hann Casino, formerly Widus Hotel and Casino, rebranded and relaunched in December 2021. Owned and operated by Hann Philippines Inc., the resort continues to evolve its operations by blending in-person luxury with convenient digital access.
