Bloomberry Resorts Corporation has officially pushed back the opening of its newest casino development, Solaire Resort North, in Quezon City. Chairman and CEO Enrique Razon confirmed that the group now plans to launch the project in late May 2024.
This announcement marks a delay of roughly two months from the original target of March. Razon did not specify the reason behind the rescheduling but emphasized that construction is nearing completion.
Despite the setback, Bloomberry remains optimistic about the resort’s contribution to its growing portfolio. Solaire North is expected to strengthen the company’s foothold in the Philippine integrated resort market.
In a press release discussing their financial results for FY23, Enrique K. Razon Jr., Chairman and CEO of Bloomberry, expressed strong optimism for 2024, especially with the impending launch of their second integrated resort in Quezon City. He further noted that construction on Solaire Resort North is nearing completion and remains on track to open later in May.
Enrique Razon Jr. emphasized, “Solaire Resort North will massively enhance our luxury gaming and entertainment portfolio and solidify our standing as the leading integrated resort developer and operator in the Philippines.”
Solaire North occupies a 15,000-square-meter area in Quezon City and represents a total investment of $1 billion. According to earlier company statements, the property will feature a hotel tower with up to 550 rooms, alongside a gaming section designed to accommodate as many as 200 gaming tables and potentially 3,000 slot machines.
Despite facing various setbacks and pandemic-related challenges, including delays and lockdowns, the company started construction on the project in 2019 and has steadily progressed since then.
