Suntrust Resort Holdings Inc. has once again postponed the launch of its highly anticipated Manila hotel and casino project. This latest Suntrust Manila Casino delay shifts the expected opening to 2026, pushing past the previously targeted end-2024 timeline.

In a recent filing with the Philippine Stock Exchange, Suntrust confirmed the updated schedule. The company pointed to ongoing construction challenges and adjustments to the project plan as key reasons for the delay. While the firm initially moved the target to early 2025, recent developments have made even that date unrealistic.

Despite these hurdles, construction continues. The structural phase remains active, though progress has slowed. Suntrust reiterated its commitment to delivering a world-class integrated resort in Westside City Resorts World—an emerging entertainment and gaming hub in Parañaque.

To address concerns, the company clarified that the final completion date still depends on future construction progress. However, it assured investors and stakeholders that it is actively coordinating with contractors and partners to accelerate the remaining stages.

Suntrust operates under LET Group Holdings Ltd., a Hong Kong-listed firm formerly known as Suncity Group Holdings Ltd. Backed by a US$1 billion investment, the project aims to become one of Metro Manila’s premier casino resorts.

The resort will feature a 400-room luxury hotel, a casino floor with gaming tables and slot machines, and a range of upscale amenities. Once operational, it is expected to attract both local and international guests, further strengthening the Philippine tourism and gaming industries.

While this latest Suntrust Manila Casino delay raises fresh concerns, industry watchers remain cautiously optimistic. All eyes are now on the company’s ability to meet its revised 2026 launch target.
