Thomas Arasi, President, Director, and Chief Operating Officer of Bloomberry Resorts Corporation, officially stepped down from all his roles on Tuesday.
Bloomberry confirmed his retirement in a company disclosure, citing personal reasons. Arasi also vacated his seat on the board of directors of Bloomberry and its subsidiary, Bloomberry Resorts and Hotels Inc. (BRHI), along with all positions across other subsidiaries.
So far, the company has not announced a successor. However, it is expected to name a replacement in the coming weeks.
Arasi’s decision to retire came as a surprise. Just two months earlier, he significantly increased his Bloomberry stock holdings by approximately USD 1.2 million through the company’s executive incentive plan—a move that suggested long-term commitment at the time.
He joined Bloomberry in 2013 during the launch of Solaire, and over the years, he helped shape the company’s growth trajectory. Before joining Bloomberry, Arasi served as President and CEO of Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
Earlier this year, Arasi delivered a keynote address at the 2024 ASEAN Gaming Summit, where he outlined his vision for Solaire and its newest integrated resort, Solaire North. His departure comes even as Bloomberry reported mixed results in Q3 2024. While the company posted a net loss of PHP470 million (USD 8.01 million), it also recorded the first full-quarter revenue contribution from Solaire North.
Despite the leadership transition, industry observers expect Bloomberry to maintain momentum as it continues expanding its footprint in the Philippine gaming and hospitality sector.
