Acesite (Philippines) Hotel Corp., the promoter of Waterfront Manila Hotel & Casino, has officially moved the completion timeline for phase one of its reconstruction. According to a Thursday filing with the Philippine Stock Exchange, the company now expects to finish phase one by the fourth quarter of 2025. This marks a significant shift from its previous estimate.
Previously, in October 2023, Acesite projected a tentative target of May 2024 to complete phase one of the reconstruction. The property, formerly known as Manila Pavilion, has remained under redevelopment since 2018. That year, a major fire severely damaged the site, prompting the need for a multi-phase reconstruction plan.
Furthermore, in its latest disclosure, Acesite detailed revised timelines for phases two and three. Phase two is now scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2025, while phase three will conclude in the fourth quarter of the same year. By comparison, the company’s earlier October 2023 filing set phase two for January 2025 and phase three for May 2025.
The reconstruction forms part of a broader initiative led by Acesite’s parent company, Waterfront Philippines Inc. Their 2022 annual report outlined the long-term strategy to revive the Manila casino-hotel complex and modernize its facilities. Since the fire, the group has worked to upgrade infrastructure and improve amenities for both hotel guests and casino patrons.
As of now, the group has not confirmed whether Waterfront Manila Hotel & Casino will include online gaming capabilities once reconstruction is complete. However, with the rise of digital gaming across the Philippines, many industry observers believe that online options may soon become part of the property’s offerings.
While timelines have shifted, Acesite emphasized its continued commitment to completing all phases efficiently. The company also reiterated its aim to deliver a world-class destination for both gaming and hospitality once the project concludes.
