Westside City Project Near Completion

Construction of Manila’s integrated resort Westside City has now reached 75 percent completion as the development enters its final stretch.

Key structural components—such as the casino complex and main support facilities—are now completed, allowing the project to transition into interior and finishing works.

Since May 2020, consulting firm Arcadis has managed cost and construction oversight for the massive development. Its engagement concluded upon reaching the 75 percent milestone, marking more than five years of involvement in the project.

Valued at around US$1.25 billion, the project has experienced several delays. Following a corporate restructuring, Suntrust Resort Holdings now holds a minority stake in the venture. The resort’s main casino is projected to open by Q3 2026, pending final approval of a revised Project Implementation Plan by PAGCOR.

To push the development to completion, Suntrust and Travellers International have pledged additional funding. Travellers reaffirmed that the resort remains one of its key priorities despite the remaining financial commitments.

Once fully operational, Westside City is expected to strengthen Manila’s reputation as a leading entertainment and gaming destination—joining the ranks of other major integrated resorts in Entertainment City, including Solaire, City of Dreams Manila, and Okada Manila.
