After five incredible years shaping the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) scene, Blacklist International has announced its exit from the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Philippines. The organization has transferred its MPL franchise slot to a new team, closing an unforgettable chapter for one of the country’s most celebrated esports squads.
Since its founding in 2020, Blacklist International quickly became a powerhouse in the MLBB community. Led by Head Coach Kristoffer “Bon Chan” Ricaplaza, they popularized the revolutionary “UBE” (Ultimate Bonding Experience) strategy that changed the way the game is played. The core players—Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna, Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario, Edward “Edward” Dapadap, Kiel “Oheb” Soriano, and Salic “Hadji” Imam—secured multiple championship titles, including the prestigious M3 World Championship in 2021 and several MPL PH season wins.
Though the team had many highlights, recent seasons presented challenges. In 2023, they achieved a respectable third place at the M5 World Championship but struggled during subsequent MPL PH seasons. Their fourth-place finish in Season 14 ultimately meant they missed out on the M6 World Championship.
In a heartfelt announcement, Blacklist International thanked their loyal fans and supporters, explaining that stepping away was part of Tier One Entertainment’s bigger plan to diversify beyond esports. While they remain open to returning in the future, they emphasized the importance of taking time to rethink their direction and focus on new opportunities.
As they step back from MPL PH, the esports community celebrates Blacklist International’s lasting impact—an inspiring legacy of innovation, teamwork, and excellence that will influence players and fans for years to come.
