Partnership Plug and Play Horizon PH Project

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB), and DFNN signed a Memorandum of Understanding to formalize their roles as foundational partners of Plug and Play’s Horizon Philippines Project.

Together, the three entities aim to strengthen the Philippines’ growing startup and innovation ecosystem. Specifically, they plan to position Bataan as a key hub for technology, generate new job opportunities, and drive long-term, inclusive economic growth across the region.

DFNN actively contributes to the Horizon Philippines Project through its strategic collaboration with Plug and Play. The company focuses on leveraging the nation’s deep talent pool to accelerate economic growth via tech-driven entrepreneurship and digital innovation.

Moreover, DFNN President and CEO Ricardo F. Banaag shared his enthusiasm for this groundbreaking partnership. He emphasized that Horizon Philippines goes beyond being a mere program; rather, it represents a strong commitment to nation-building. He noted that the initiative fosters cooperation among government, private industry, and innovators to achieve inclusive digital transformation. In doing so, Horizon Philippines sets the stage for a forward-thinking, innovation-led technology landscape.

Through its participation, DFNN expects to gain firsthand exposure to emerging startups and cutting-edge technologies. In turn, the company intends to lead innovation efforts across multiple industries by offering resources, mentorship, and access to breakthrough solutions. This initiative builds on Plug and Play’s global success—especially its experience supporting early-stage companies in Silicon Valley.

Additionally, Mr. Banaag reiterated that Horizon Philippines acts as a strategic launchpad for transformative technologies. He confirmed that the initiative aligns closely with DFNN’s long-term vision for sustainable growth. Above all, he expressed pride in working with both public and private partners to help build a digital economy that opens opportunities for all Filipinos.
