DigiPlus Brazil online gaming license

Philippine-listed DigiPlus Interactive Corp announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, DigiPlus Brazil Interactive Ltda, has received definitive authority from the Brazilian government to operate sports betting and online gaming in the country, securing the coveted DigiPlus Brazil online gaming license.

In a filing made Thursday, DigiPlus Interactive highlighted its expansion into Brazil’s rapidly growing iGaming market. The company, well known for its investments in gaming and leisure services—including bingo operations and a digital sportsbook platform—confirmed that its Brazilian unit successfully secured the license from the Ministry of Finance’s Secretariat of Awards and Bets.

Back in November, DigiPlus stated that its Brazilian subsidiary cleared the qualification stage for obtaining a federal license to offer iGaming services. According to the latest update, only 10 percent of applicants received definitive licenses, and DigiPlus ranked among this select group of approved operators. However, the company did not disclose the total number of applicants.

To support its Brazilian venture, DigiPlus allocated PHP660 million (approximately USD11.2 million) in initial funding. This amount covers licensing fees, minimum capital requirements, and operational reserves as part of the certification process.

Furthermore, on Tuesday, Brazilian authorities released a list of 14 companies granted definitive licenses to begin online gaming operations starting January 1. Meanwhile, an additional 52 companies received preliminary approval and have 30 days to complete the required documentation for full certification.
