Philippines-listed gaming operator DigiPlus Interactive Corp has announced a “strategic pause” of its first Brazilian venture, GamePlus, with the suspension of operations taking effect immediately.
The decision comes just weeks after the September 22 launch of GamePlus, marking DigiPlus’ first foray into the international market. According to the company, the soft-launch phase served as a live testing period to gather insights into Brazilian player behavior, cultural preferences, and entertainment trends.
“These insights will be vital in refining our research and development and in shaping a more localized and engaging gaming experience,” the company said.
Chairman Eusebio Tanco emphasized that the pause is a strategic move aimed at ensuring a stronger comeback with a digital entertainment offering tailored to Brazilian culture. DigiPlus added that this step aligns with its long-term strategy of prioritizing quality, cultural relevance, and sustainability.
Teams in both the Philippines and Brazil are now focused on developing a self-produced, innovative product expected to relaunch in early 2026.
In the Philippines, DigiPlus operates several popular platforms including BingoPlus, the country’s first government-approved online bingo platform; ArenaPlus, a sportsbook; and GameZone, a casual and arcade gaming site.
Recently, the company also announced a partnership with Bayad, a local bills payment service provider, to expand over-the-counter payment options for its Philippine players. Additionally, DigiPlus continues to explore international expansion, having submitted three online gaming license applications to regulators in South Africa’s Western Cape province.
