Philippine-listed and licensed online gaming operator DigiPlus Interactive Corp announced on Wednesday that it has formally filed three online-related licence applications with the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB)in South Africa.

According to the company, the move strengthens its entry into one of the world’s most promising regulated online gaming markets. DigiPlus first revealed its South Africa expansion plans in July, stating that it was preparing the necessary filings.

The applications cover a national manufacturer’s licence, a bookmaker’s licence, and a bookmaker’s premises licence, as confirmed in its latest release. The firm added that the WCGRB is considered a preferred jurisdiction for international operators due to its transparent processes and digital readiness.

DigiPlus chairman Eusebio Tanco said the filing marks another milestone in the group’s global growth journey, highlighting its commitment to innovation, responsible gaming, player protection, and adapting games for diverse markets.

Earlier this week, DigiPlus launched its first international brand, GamePlus, in Brazil. The company noted that entry into both the Brazilian and South African markets reflects its ambition to become a leading digital entertainment provider across emerging economies.

In the Philippines, DigiPlus operates BingoPlus, the country’s first government-approved online bingo platform, along with ArenaPlus, a sportsbook, and GameZone, a casual and arcade gaming hub.

The firm also told the Philippine Stock Exchange on Friday that it continues to explore potential acquisitions, though no agreements have been finalized. This disclosure came after media speculation linking the company to a possible buyout of billionaire Lawrence Ho’s stake in City of Dreams Manila.
