DigiPlus Interactive Corp (formerly Leisure and Resorts World Corp) in the Philippines reported a remarkable surge in its financial performance, posting a net income of PHP 4.1 billion in 2023. This figure marks an extraordinary 596 percent increase from the previous year.
After recording a modest net income of PHP 686.8 million in 2022, the company sharply reversed its fortunes following a significant net loss of PHP 894 million during the pandemic-ridden 2021.
DigiPlus generates more than 90 percent of its total revenue from onsite bingo operations, its BingoPlus platform, and various e-games. The company attributed the surge in earnings to the increased participation of millions of Filipinos playing bingo both physically and online.
Additionally, revenues soared 306 percent to PHP 27.3 billion in 2023, driven by higher user traffic on its flagship bingo platform BingoPlus and sportsbook ArenaPlus, further boosted by new digital offerings.
The company’s subsidiary, AB Leisure Exponent Incorporated, leads bingo gaming in the Philippines. It launched BingoPlus (bingoplus.com) in January 2022, which recently celebrated its four-year anniversary with 20 million registered users.
DigiPlus commands a dominant 31 percent share of the digital bingo market, while also operating over 140 physical bingo sites nationwide. The company’s stock price surged 232 percent in 2023, making it the top-performing stock on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).
BingoPlus stands out as the Philippines’ leading live streaming bingo platform, exclusively licensed by the state-owned Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR). Since bingo has long been a favorite game in the Philippines, moving it online enhanced accessibility significantly, and its impressive growth in recent years clearly reflects this trend.
