Bloomberry Resorts, the company behind Solaire, announced Gregory Hawkins as its acting Chief Operating Officer (COO) after Thomas Arasi retired. Hawkins, a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the gaming industry, stepped into the role on an interim basis.
According to a December 19th filing with the Philippine Stock Exchange, Hawkins officially assumed his new responsibilities on Thursday. Prior to this appointment, he managed Solaire Resort North in Quezon City, which gave him deep familiarity with Bloomberry’s operations.
Furthermore, the company confirmed that Hawkins has taken the position of COO at its subsidiary, Bloomberry Resorts and Hotels Inc. (BRHI). In this role, he will oversee operations at both Solaire Entertainment City and Solaire North, continuing the duties previously handled by Arasi.
Arasi’s departure as President and COO, which the company attributed to personal reasons, came as an unexpected announcement earlier in the week.
Moreover, Hawkins brings a robust background in the casino and gaming sector. From 2019 to 2022, he served as Chief Casino Officer at Star Entertainment and was previously Managing Director of Star Sydney. Before joining Star Entertainment, Hawkins led Crown Resorts’ Melbourne casino as CEO and served as President of Melco’s City of Dreams in Macau.
