Dennis Ryan Uy officially resigned as Director of MJC Investments Corporation, the entity managing the Manila Jockey Club, effective January 2 this year.
To fill the vacancy, the MJC board appointed Jose Marie Angelo Dela Cruz as the new Director, who began his role on the same day.
MJC Investments Corporation operates as a publicly listed company focused on the tourism and entertainment sectors. The company primarily manages the horse racing track at San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite, Philippines.
The company earns a substantial portion of its revenue from horse race betting operations. It facilitates wagers through over 250 Off Track Betting (OTB) stations nationwide—both company-owned and franchised—as well as through its Turf Club.
Alfonso Reyno Jr. currently leads the company and oversees its collaborative ventures with Ayala Corporation. These projects include condominiums and office towers located at the San Lazaro Business and Tourism Park in Sta. Cruz, Manila, as well as the Canyon Ranch suburban development at San Lazaro Leisure Park, which it jointly manages with Century Properties.
The company also generates additional income from horse stabling rentals and the casino located within the San Lazaro Leisure Park.
Although horse race betting has not yet fully integrated into the online gaming ecosystem, the industry sees strong potential. By enabling wagers through mobile devices or computers, the sector could unlock more revenue streams and broaden its player base.
