Travellers International Hotel Group Inc., which owns and operates Newport World Resorts in Manila, reported record-breaking gross gaming revenue of PHP34.2 billion in 2023. Alliance Global Group Inc., its parent company, disclosed the figures in a Philippine Stock Exchange filing.

The company achieved a 7 percent increase in GGR compared to 2022, marking its highest revenue ever. At the same time, net revenues rose by 19 percent year-on-year to PHP31.9 billion. This impressive growth came largely from the resurgence in tourism and a rebound in meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE). As a result, hotel and other revenues jumped by 40 percent, totaling PHP7.4 billion.

Despite rising costs throughout the year, Travellers International raised its EBITDA by 8 percent to PHP8.2 billion, its highest since 2012. Meanwhile, net income grew by 89 percent to approximately PHP2.0 billion, further showcasing its financial strength.

Newport World Resorts currently features five major international hotel brands: Marriott Manila Hotel, Sheraton Manila Hotel, Hilton Manila, Hotel Okura Manila, and Holiday Inn Express Manila. These properties continue to attract a mix of local and international guests.

In June, Alliance Global announced plans to expand its integrated resort footprint. Although the company has not revealed specific sites or timelines, it continues to explore future opportunities.

Beyond its physical operations, Newport World Resorts also runs an online gaming platform, offering members a hybrid entertainment experience that caters to evolving consumer habits.

With 2023 performance setting a new benchmark, the company—and the broader Philippine gaming sector—looks forward to maintaining its momentum in 2024 and beyond.
