PokerStars, renowned for its online poker platforms and live tournament organization, announced two upcoming events as part of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) scheduled for this year at the luxurious Okada Manila casino resort in the Philippine capital.
Specifically, the two notable events include APPT Manila 2024, slated for July 24 to August 5, and the APPT Manila Championship, set to take place from October 18 to October 27.
APPT Manila 2024 offers a guaranteed prize pool of PHP 119 million (US$2.15 million) and will unfold at Okada Manila’s prestigious Cove Manila venue.
Meanwhile, the APPT Manila Championship features a guaranteed prize pool of PHP 140 million and will be hosted at Okada Manila’s Coral Lounge, according to an update PokerStars released on Friday.
Furthermore, Byron Yip, President and Chief Operating Officer of Okada Manila, shared his enthusiasm about the partnership with PokerStars. He emphasized the casino’s status as a top gaming and entertainment destination in Asia, stating, “This partnership underscores our position as one of Asia’s premier gaming and entertainment venues. Moreover, it reflects our ongoing initiatives to transform Manila into a leading destination for the most exciting entertainment.”
Additionally, Cedric Billot, Associate Director of Live Events at PokerStars, highlighted the APPT circuit’s significance, noting its establishment in 2007 and its rise to prominence across Asia. He expressed excitement for the 2024 APPT Manila event, praising it as one of the largest gatherings in the tour’s history. Billot also lauded the new conference space at Okada Manila’s casino and anticipated a spectacular event.
