Clark authorities continue to strengthen efforts to attract more Taiwanese investment in Clark Freeport Zone, aiming to boost foreign capital inflow and deepen cross-border business collaboration. The initiative supports long-term plans to expand the freeport’s footprint and drive regional growth.
Recently, Clark officials met with representatives from 17 Taiwanese companies, including BB International Leisure and Resort Development Corp, to explore investment opportunities. BB International, notably, operates the Midori Clark Hotel and Casino—one of the few establishments in the Philippines using RFID technology on its gaming tables.
So far, Taiwanese investment in Clark Freeport Zone has surpassed $190 million. In addition, exports from Taiwanese businesses based in Clark have already exceeded $10 million, highlighting the growing economic ties between Taiwan and the region.
Strategically located near Clark International Airport, the Freeport Zone continues to attract international attention. Authorities project the area could generate up to 600,000 jobs, particularly across the tourism, education, and aviation sectors.
Private operators like Hann Resorts have played a key role in Clark’s rise as an investment hub. Meanwhile, Belle Corporation is actively planning further expansion projects in the zone. However, not all ventures have thrived—Fontana Resort & Country Club recently faced suspension due to unresolved financial obligations.
By actively fostering Taiwanese investment in Clark Freeport Zone, local officials aim to position Clark as a top-tier economic corridor in Southeast Asia. With strong government backing and private sector interest, Clark’s expansion appears poised to accelerate in the years ahead.
