Universal Entertainment Corporation, the parent company of the iconic Okada Manila resort, has officially introduced a newly restructured management framework. This development comes as the firm looks to reinforce its corporate governance and tighten control over its integrated resort business in the Philippines. Through this transition, Universal aims to sharpen its strategic focus and improve leadership efficiency at both the group and local levels.

The announcement, made on July 10, highlights a key organizational shift: the creation of a new management committee within Tiger Resort, Leisure and Entertainment, Inc. (TRLEI)—the operating company behind Okada Manila. Moving forward, this internal committee will spearhead business operations, paving the way for swifter, more unified decision-making across the board.

Moreover, in a bid to enhance transparency and strengthen corporate oversight, Universal Entertainment plans to nominate its executive vice president, Mr. Koji Araki, as the new chairman of TRLEI’s board. This move underscores the company’s intent to consolidate leadership while ensuring alignment between the group’s vision and day-to-day resort operations in Manila.

In the same breath, Universal reaffirmed its commitment to streamlining the Okada Manila business through efficient management and robust governance. These changes arrive in the wake of ongoing efforts to stabilize TRLEI’s leadership following legal disputes and corporate transitions over the past years.

With these structural adjustments now underway, Universal Entertainment appears poised to navigate the competitive Philippine gaming market more effectively. By aligning executive roles with operational needs, the company signals a forward-looking approach aimed at long-term success for Okada Manila and its expanding entertainment footprint in Asia.
