Konami continues to ramp up its efforts across the Asia-Pacific region. The company now aims to carve a stronger presence in Macau’s ultra-competitive casino market. Although Konami has already gained solid traction in the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia, it plans to intensify its push into one of Asia’s largest gaming hubs.
“We’ve seen great results outside of Macau so far. But it’s becoming a bigger priority for us moving forward,” said David Punter, who leads operations, sales, marketing, and service across Australia and the APAC region for Konami.
The company has clearly committed to the region. “We’re fully committed here,” Punter added. As a result, that commitment continues to deliver impressive results.
Konami’s slot machines currently perform well in the Philippines. Meanwhile, major resorts in Singapore—like Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa—have already ordered Konami titles. In Malaysia, Resorts World Genting ranks Konami machines second in popularity. These milestones show that players across APAC respond well to what Konami brings to the casino floor.
Several standout titles continue to fuel Konami’s momentum. Popular games like Bull Rush, Fortune Mint, and Wild Envelope have built a loyal following. Now, Konami is actively clearing regulatory hurdles to introduce even more of these games to Macau.
“We’ve landed some products in key properties like City of Dreams in Cotai,” said Punter. “Fortune Mint in particular is one we’re really excited about. It had a great response when we showcased it at last year’s gaming expos.”
Konami plans to roll out Bull Blitz next, which builds on the success of the hit title All Aboard. The company also teased Prize Strike, a new game featuring a unique “Golden Tree” mechanic.
However, breaking into the Macau market isn’t as easy as copying success from other regions. “You’ve got to localize,” Punter stressed. “That means tuning your game’s visuals, bet structure, and even the math to fit the tastes and expectations of players here.”
This dedication to localization helps Konami balance proven hits with innovative ideas. While hold-and-spin games perform well across many markets, Konami also bets on less volatile options. Games like Fortune Mint and Wild Envelope offer alternative win mechanics that don’t rely on traditional bonus formats.
“These games give players something different,” Punter explained. “You can collect prizes, engage in new mechanics, and enjoy a more varied gameplay experience. It’s about having both your staples and your curveballs.”
In the Philippines, Konami has sharpened its approach even further. The team noticed the rising popularity of linked jackpots. To meet this trend, they adjusted prize levels to match player expectations. “It’s not just about standalone machines anymore,” he noted.
Punter also observed something unique about Filipino casino players. Many return frequently rather than only visiting once. “Once someone finds a game they connect with, they come back to it,” he said. “It’s a repeat-visit market, and that creates loyalty.”
Looking ahead, Konami remains optimistic. “Over the next six to twelve months, we’re focused on dialing in the little things—that five percent that can take a game from good to great in this region,” Punter concluded.
With strong momentum, regional insights, and a commitment to quality, Konami looks ready to elevate its presence in Asia—especially in Macau.
